Musical Interlude – Gil Scott-Heron
Posted by Jeffman under music videos, musical interlude, not what it used to be

Friday comes around again -- actually it’s coming to an end, but I’m a busy man, you know -- and so does another musical interlude. Oh yes. Even amongst all the cynicism and nonsense, we always make time for a spot of music. A classic turn that enforces the fact that music, musicians, bands, etc. are not what they used to be. This Friday it’s the turn of Gil Scott-Heron.
Oh yes, my good man. A tale of a community ravaged by alcoholism… Actually, let’s allow Gil to tell the story.
From 1974’s Winter In America, we have ‘The Bottle’.
Enjoy

Don’t worry Harley, I shall be having a look at through vid archives over at your blog. From what I’ve seen so far, you have good taste
As for the colour scheme, I think the one I have suits the aching lament that this blog is to times gone by…
…Of course, maybe a bit of psychedelic wallpaper would do the trick

Gil Scott Heron! The man who sang
A rat just bit my sister Nell
And Whitey’s on the moon
Her hand and arm began to swell
And Whitey’s on the moon….
Cool video!
